Knee Arthritis Program
What is the Knee Arthritis Program (KAP)?
KAP is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and evidence-based approach to the management of knee osteoarthritis (OA). The program provides evaluation and treatment options from specialist clinicians including a Sport Medicine Physician, Nutrition Consultant, Physiotherapist, and Athletic Therapist.
How does KAP work?
Before entering into the KAP program, prospective clients will be evaluated by a Sport Medicine Physician to confirm an arthritis diagnosis and determine suitability for the program. The purpose of this medical consultation is to provide precise diagnosis of the injury and may include diagnostic imaging and/or other laboratory
What can I expect from KAP?
KAP continues with group exercise sessions. Groups of no more than six are led through a progressive exercise program over 12 weeks. At the end of the 12 weeks, there will be another biomechanical assessment to measure progress. The cost of the group exercise sessions is $500 for all 12 sessions and can be billed through Physiotherapy extended health benefits.
